Councillors Propose Changes To Farm Sizes

Lambton County councillors are concerned the Draft County Official Plan may be too restrictive.

During a review presentation in Wyoming Wednesday, Manager of Planning and Development Dave Posliff highlighted ten focus areas for an overall growth strategy.

Posliff says a motion put forth by Dawn-Euphemia Mayor Alan Broad will change the restrictions around farm land.

Posliff adds there remains a standard within provincial planning policies ensuring farms remain viable and flexible going into the future.

Changes will be made to the draft plan before heading to public consultation in the new year.
