United Way Campaign Surpasses 70%

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign has just $550,000 to go.

Executive Director Dave Brown says they've raised over $1.4-million. That's 72 per cent of the $1.95-million goal.

Brown says Nova Chemicals is expected to wrap up its fundraising campaign this week, which will help push the campaign to near 80 per cent.

The United Way funds 22 member agencies which provide 35 programs and services to area residents.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
