Downtown Film Festival Kickoff

A red carpet will be rolled out Thursday for the first ever South Western International Film Festival in downtown Sarnia.

Executive Director and Corunna native Ravi Srinivasan says film screenings, workshops, and Q&A opportunities with filmmakers are taking place throughout the weekend.

He says the question period takes place after the 7pm screenings Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Srinivasan believes the highlight of the festival is Friday's screening of "Hurt". It's a powerful real-life story of one-time Canadian national hero and cancer survivor Steve Fonyo.

A Q&A period will follow after with Producer Peter Gentile.
