The national weather agency has issued a special weather statement for areas including Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, Windsor-Essex, London-Middlesex and Huron-Perth. Strong southwesterly winds are expected Thursday with gusts to 70 km/h to 80 km/h in most places. Wind gusts near Lake Erie may approach the warning criteria of 90 km/h.
