Historic Day For Chris Hadfield

It was 20 years ago today on November 12, 1995, that Chris Hadfield blasted off into space for the first time, launching from Cape Canaveral.

The 56-year-old Sarnia native became the first Canadian to walk in space and served as commander of the International Space Station.

Most recently the former astronaut released the first album recorded partially in space, "Space Sessions: Songs from a Tin Can".

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
