Strong Winds Race Across The Region

Strong southwesterly winds were buffeting southwestern Ontario as forecast Thursday.

A special weather statement includes Sarnia-Lambton.

A gust of 63 km/h was recorded at Chris Hadfield Airport during the 10 o'clock hour.

At Windsor airport a gust of 85 km/h was reported at 9am.

Environment Canada's wind warning criteria is 90 km/h.

The cold front is racing east across the region.

It will remain windy through Friday before dissipating for the weekend.

Power Out

Bluewater Power crews made repairs Thursday morning to a transformer in the Wellington St. area.

The utility says a small number of customers between Lansdowne Ave. and Lorne Cres. were without power for a couple of hours.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
