Five Weeks Left In United Way Campaign

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way has hit the 86 per cent mark of its annual fundraising campaign.

So far $1.67-million dollars has been collected.

Executive Director Dave Brown says they are ahead of last years pace and is optimistic they will reach their target before the end of the year.

This years goal is $1.95-million. The United Way funds 22 member agencies which provide 35 programs and services to area residents.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
