Sarnia Couple Claims 6/49 Jackpot

A Sarnia couple has received a wonderful anniversary present.

Cathay and Bryan Silverthorne won the $5-million LOTTO 6/49 jackpot November 11, 2015.

The happy couple celebrates 51 years of marriage next month, and are planning a train trip across the country.

The Silverthornes travelled to Toronto in style and took a limo to claim their winnings. They say they're excited to share the money with their two children, nine grandchildren and four great grandkids.

The winning ENCORE ticket from last Wednesday's draw worth $100,000 was sold in Ottawa and the guaranteed $1-million prize ticket was sold in the Owen Sound area.
