Winning Jackpot Felt Like 'Electric Shock'

Sarnia's Bryan Silverthorne says he's always told everyone "it's not if I win, but when I win the lottery."

Silverthorne and his wife Cathay won $5-million in the November 11 Lotto 6/49 draw.

He says last Thursday he checked his ticket after seeing on a friend's Facebook page that the winning ticket had been sold in Sarnia.

Silverthorne served 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces before working for Lyndon Securities.

He retired two-and-a-half years ago.

He and his wife are taking a train trip across the country to celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary next month and also plan to go on an Alaskan cruise.

They also plan to share the windfall with their two children, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
