Woman Assaulted While Walking Home

A 25-year-old Sarnia woman was assaulted early Wednesday morning and a 17-year-old male is facing charges.

A woman returning to her Kathleen Ave. home was grabbed around 3am according to Sarnia Police Constable Les Jones.

Jones says luckily the woman was on the phone at the time with her husband, who was able to come to her aid.

The teen was being held for a bail hearing and faces charges of assault and breach of recognizance.

The accused is a young offender and cannot be identified.

Jones says the woman was shaken, but not physically injured and did not require medical attention.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
