31st Annual Celebration Of Lights

The waterfront will be alive with Christmas spirit Friday for the 31st Annual Celebration of Lights.

Director Bill Suisham says ongoing remediation at Centennial Park has limited the amount of lights they can put up.

As a result, the roadway arch wont be part of this year's celebration.

He says it opening ceremonies get underway in the Bayshore parking lot at 6:30pm, and Santa helping turn the lights on at 8pm.

Suisham says they will be lighting fireworks from a barge in the bay at 8:15pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
