Local MPs In Conservative Shadow Cabinet

The two members of parliament in the Sarnia-Lambton area have been appointed to the official opposition's shadow cabinet.

Interim Leader of the Conservative Party Rona Ambrose announced the appointments Friday morning.

Newly elected Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu will serve as the critic for science.

In a news release, she says she looks forward to her new role and being an effective member of a dynamic team.

Veteran Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MP Bev Shipley has been appointed critic for rural affairs.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
