Christmas Activities Over The Weekend

There are two Santa Claus parades in Lambton County Saturday, both beginning at 7pm.

In Corunna, the parade starts at Simon and Sherrol's No Frills store and heads north on Lyndoch St. to Beckwith St.

The Forest parade starts at Coultis Park and Kimball Hall and finishes at the Forest Public Library.

Bluewater Health Foundation's Winter Wonderland is on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4 pm at DeGroot's Nurseries.

There will be real reindeer, horse-drawn wagon rides and other activities for the family.

Admission is $10 and children under the age of three are free with proceeds going to the Bluewater Health Foundation to purchase pediatric equipment.

It's the second weekend of the Secret Santa Shoppe at Pathway's Health Centre. It's on until 7pm Friday, 9:30am-5pm Saturday and 10:30am until 2pm Sunday.

The sixth annual Christmas In The Village is on from 11am-3pm Saturday in downtown Point Edward. There's Christmas caroling, a farm animal petting zoo, free hot chocolate and cookies at the fire hall and other activities for children at the Point Edward Library, along with free horse and buggy rides.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
