Search Continues For Casino Operator

Ontario Lottery and Gaming has issued Requests for Proposal for the Southwest Gaming Bundle which includes the Pt. Edward Casino.

Spokesman Tony Bitonti says they're inviting anywhere from three to five groups to submit bids to take over operation of the facilities.

He says it's the last step before choosing the new service provider, expected to be announced in 2017.

Bitonti says the Pt. Edward Casino will likely have a new name to reflect the new operator. The Ontario government will still have strict control over gaming policy.

The Southwest Gaming Bundle also includes the slots at Western Fair, Clinton, Dresden, Hanover and Woodstock.

RFP's for the remaining gaming bundles are expected to be released in the coming months.
