Chychrun Invited To National Jr Camp

Sarnia Sting defenceman Jakob Chychrun has been invited to Hockey Canada's national junior team selection camp.

The 17-year-old is one of just three invited players that hasn't yet been drafted into the NHL.

He's eligible for the 2016 entry draft.

Chychrun has 4 goals and 16 points and a plus 9 rating in 25 games this season.

The camp runs from December 10-14 in Etobicoke and includes December 12 and 13 against a team of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) all stars.

In total, 22 players will be selected to represent Canada at the 2016 IIHF Wolrd Junior Championship, December 26 to January 5, 2016 in Helsinki Finland.

Canada, the defending gold medal champion, opens the tournament against the United States December 26.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
