Sarnia-Lambton United Way Reaches Campaign Goal

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton has reached its annual holiday fundraising goal with a month still remaining in the campaign.

Campaign Chair Richard Kelch says they've surpassed the $1.95-million objective with help from over 4,000 donors.

Kelch says businesses and retirees have especially stepped up with donations this year.

"We'd like to recognize just the overall generosity of the volunteer campaign coordinators with each individual campaign," says Kelch.

The campaign officially wraps up at year's end and final numbers will be known in early January. It's expected they'll pass the $2-million mark for the first time.

The United Way funds 22 member agencies that provide 35 programs and services to area residents.
