Altercation In Shoplifting Arrest

There was an altercation in a store parking lot and a foot chase as Sarnia police tried to arrest a woman for shoplifting last Friday. An officer followed a 20-year-old woman to a van after she left a Quinn Dr. store just after 10:30pm. One of two men in the van confronted the officer and the woman fled. After a brief chase she returned to the van where the officer and a man wrestled to the ground. Back-up arrived and the woman and a 32-year-old man were arrested. Police say a search of the male resulted in the seizure of about 10 g of methamphetamine, cash and a stolen credit card. He's charged with obstructing police, resisting arrest, drug trafficking and possession of stolen property. The woman faces theft, resisting arrest and breach of probation charges.
