Sifton OMB Hearing Date Set

An Ontario Municipal Board hearing challenging the city's official plan will be held in early summer.

Five days have been set aside beginning June 20 to deal with Sifton Properties' appeal of city council's decision in May to deny an official plan amendment and rezoning application.

Sifton’s plans included a small grocery store, a four-storey seniors complex, a small medical centre and possibly a restaurant at the northwest corner of Modeland Rd. and Michigan Ave.

City staff recommended the application be rejected because it's not consistent with provincial policy and doesn't conform to the city and county official plans.
