Collision Leads To Impaired Driving Charges

A two-vehicle collision in Wyoming Saturday night resulted in a 35-year-old Enniskillen man being charged with impaired driving. Around 8:30pm, Lambton OPP responded to the intersection of Oil Heritage Rd. and London Line. Officers called in the canine unit after witnesses at the scene said one of the drivers involved in the crash fled on foot. Shortly after, a male suspect, found walking on Broadway St. in Wyoming, allegedly resisted officers attempts to arrest him.

No officers were injured in the arrest and no injuries were reported in the collision. Subsequent breath tests showed the male was more than three times the legal limit.

He faces charges of driving while impaired, driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, resisting a peace officer, driving while under suspension, and failing to remain. He will appear in Sarnia court February 15th.
