Common Phone Scam Continues

Sarnia police are again reminding residents about a common phone scam.

Constable Les Jones says they've received several complaints recently from concerned citizens.

"The Sarnia Police Service continues to get multiple calls each and every day in regards to the Canada Revenue Agency phone scam," says Constable Jones.

"Generally speaking, somebody identifies themselves as being from the Canada Revenue Agency and that the victim needs to pay a certain amount of money, and as, in all scams, they create some urgency to act."

Residents are again reminded not to share personal banking information over the phone or internet.

Constable Jones says if you do receive a call contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre online or by phoning 1-888-495-8501.
