Lake Huron Water Levels Rising

Lake Huron water levels are on par with last year at this time, after a few concerning years of low volume.

The lake is currently 17cm above the long term average of about 177cm above sea level.

Environment Canada's Rob Caldwell says in 2013, the lake was 53cm below where it is now.

Caldwell says this winter is expected to be more mild than usual with El Nino present. He says our area could see more rain than snow but figures the overall precipitation will be about normal.

He says it's nearly impossible to predict future water levels given the fluctuation from year to year.
