Community Volunteer Recognized

A longtime St. Clair Township volunteer has been recognized for his years of service at Sombra Museum. Mayor Steve Arnold says Eldon Grant has been instrumental in the museum's operation for the past 40 years. "They do such a great job, volunteers in the community, and there's thousands of them of course. But a person like Eldon, he decided a year ago he was going to slow down and not be quite as involved, but I've been out to the museum many times since he supposedly retired and he's always there working," says Arnold.

"They retire, but they don't really retire because their hearts are in the community." Grant was recently presented with a plaque and certificate, thanking him for his efforts.
