A 19-year-old male was taken by air ambulance to hospital in serious condition after a three-vehicle crash east of Brigden Tuesday afternoon.
Lambton OPP Constable Chris Doupe says officers responded around 2:45pm to Mandaumin Rd. and Courtright Line.
He says a tractor trailer westbound on Courtright Line and a pickup truck, southbound on Mandaumin Rd., were involved in a collision sending both vehicles out of control. The trailer, that had become detached from the cab of the truck, was then hit by a motorcycle eastbound on Courtright Line.
The St. Clair Fire Department did extinguish a fire as a result of the collision.
The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted from the scene.
An 89-year old male operating the pickup truck was taken to hospital by land ambulance in stable condition. The tractor trailer driver, a 65-year old male, was not injured.
The transport trailer was empty and had no issues concerning the environment.
Mandaumin Rd. between Moore Line and Courtright Line was closed for the investigation and expected to re-open to traffic around 10pm.
Police, EMS and St. Clair fire crews responded.
