Local K Of C Council Wins International Award

A local Knights of Columbus Council has received the international organization's top award.

William E. Prentice Council 1429 received the Star Council distinction for its overall excellence in the areas of membership and sponsorship of service-oriented activities.

Instituted over 100 years ago, Council 1429 has raised funds for several organizations and charities, including the Inn of the Good Shepherd, St. Vincent de Paul, Bluewater Health, local churches and the Arthritis Society. Members are also involved in activities such as Irish Miracle and Cyclone Aid, poster and sports competitions and scholarships.
