Careless Driving Charge Laid At Canatara

Sarnia Police have laid a careless driving charge against a Sarnia resident after a vehicle was spotted doing donuts in the Canatara Beach parking lot Tuesday morning.

It's alleged the driver was doing donuts in the snow and even went onto the beach.

Police say Lake Chipican Dr. and the lots along Canatara Park Beach are governed by the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and any inappropriate driving behavior will be dealt with accordingly.

Police say the individual was lucky to escape a stunt driving charge which involves seven days of vehicle impoundment and license suspension. Upon conviction the person may face up to a $2,000 fine.
