Lady Lion Sets OCAA Hoops Record

Riley Williams of Sarnia is the new all-time Ontario College Athletics Association scoring leader in women's basketball.

The 23-year-old Lions guard scored 16 points in a 63-59 overtime win over visiting Niagara College Sunday afternoon helping the Lambton College women secure a playoff spot.

Director of Athletics John Faragher say Williams hit a foul shot just before the end of the first half, giving her 1,179 career points.

The fifth year player surpassed former Seneca Sting player Natasha Thombs who set the previous record in the 2008-2009 season.

In men's action Lambton College beat Niagara College 94-75 to improve to 11-5 on the season.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
