Community Foundation Receives Largest Gift Ever

It's the largest gift in the history of the Sarnia Community Foundation.

Local businessman and philanthropist John Rozema has added $1.2-million to the existing Rozema Family Fund.

SCF Executive Director Jane Anema says the money will be invested, with the income funding local projects and programs.

"We've been working with John for quite a long time on it," says Anema.

"We both know it's going to make a real difference to the community in the long run. That's why he asked us to manage it."

Rozema chaired the Board for five years in the '90's, establishing the Marceil Saddy Operating Fund and managing the early investments in community projects.

In the past 30 years, the Community Foundation has supported over 125 organizations and programmes through grants totalling more than $3-million dollars.
