YMCA Launches 2016 Strong Kids Campaign

The 2016 YMCA Strong Kids Campaign has officially kicked off.

At a ceremony Wednesday at the Jerry McCaw Family Centre, President and CEO Jim Janzen announced this year's goal of $224,300.

He says the campaign connects socially or economically disadvantaged families to programs at the YMCA.

"It could be summer day camp, it could be March break day camp, it could be a heath and wellness youth membership at the Y, it could be a membership for mom or dad as well," says Janzen.

Janzen also announced the campaign's first donation of $25,000 from industrial contractor, Kel-Gor Limited.

Last year, the Strong Kids Campaign raised $211,919, providing 2246 people with membership assistance.
