UPDATED: Record Warm Friday And Saturday

Weather conditions went from wind chills of -30 C Family Day weekend to double digit highs Friday and Saturday.

A new record high for February 20 was set when the temperature reached 14.4 C early Saturday afternoon at Chris Hadfield Airport, smashing the previous mark of 13.2 C set in 1994.

Sarnia was second to Windsor (16.9 C) as the warmest spot in the province.

The temperature reached 12.7 C at 8pm Friday, unofficially breaking the previous record for February 19 of 12.6 C in 1994.

With the warm air came very strong southwesterly winds. A gust of 78 km/h was recorded at the airport at 10pm Friday.

Bluewater Power had crews out to handle some outages. Hydro One was not reporting any power disruption in Sarnia-Lambton Saturday morning.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
