Flags Begin Round Two Of Jr. C Playoffs

The Mooretown Flags kick off the 2nd round of the Great Lakes Jr. C playoffs Tuesday night against the top seeded 73's in Essex.

The Flags are coming off a seven game first round series win over the Lakeshore Canadiens, including an 8-3 victory in the final matchup.

Mooretown Flags Head Coach Doug Slipacoff says they'll be in tough against the 73's. He says the key will be to play with a structured forecheck and patience.

Ryan Lyle leads the way for Mooretown with four goals and eight assists and is tied for the league lead in playoff scoring.

Essex topped the league with a 34-3-1-2 record during the regular season, while the Flags came into the post season as the fourth seed.

The game is scheduled for 7pm in Essex with game two set for Wednesday night back in Mooretown.
