UPDATED: Lambton College Men Win Hoops Playoff

Lambton College's men's basketball team has advanced to the OCAA championships in Humber next week.

The Lions beat the Georgian Grizzlies 84-76 in a playoff qualifying game Saturday afternooon at the Lambton campus.

They advance to the provincial championships March 4-6.

The men are ranked eighth in Canada and third in Ontario.

The women will be on the court in sudden death playoff action Sunday at Seneca College. The Lady Lions went 9-9 on the season and finished fifth place in the West Division.

The winner of that game will advance to the provincial championships next week at Niagara College.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
