Oversized Equipment Move Planned Monday

The Sarnia community is being advised of an oversized equipment move Monday.

Alliance Fabricating Ltd. is shipping a Crude Styrene Condenser Exchanger from its facility on Chester St. to Ineos Styrolution Canada's Sarnia site.

The exchanger is 68 ft long, 20 ft high, 14 ft wide and weighs 543,000 lbs.

It's scheduled to leave the Chester St. plant under full police and utility escort between 8:30am and 9:30am and is being moved by Mammoet Canada along the following route:

· East on Confederation from Chester Street to Blackwell.

· South on Blackwell to Churchill

· Churchill to Plank

· Plank to Hwy. 40 soutbound

· Hwy. 40 to Vidal St. S

· Exiting off Vidal St. S to Huron Boulevard and into INEOS Styrolution Canada Ltd.

The move is expected to take six hours with the exchanger expected to arrive at its destination between 2:30pm and 3:30pm Monday.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time in their travel plans and consider taking alternate routes.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
