UPDATE: Snowfall Warning Issued

March will come in like a lion this year as another significant low pressure system intensifies and tracks toward the Great Lakes.

Environment Canada has upgraded a winter storm watch to a snowfall warning for much of southern Ontario including Sarnia-Lambton.

The weather agency says total snowfall amounts of 15 cm (6 in) are expected from Tuesday morning to early Wednesday morning as the low pressure system moves west to east just south of the area. There may also be some local blowing snow as gusty north-northeasterly winds accompany the storm system.

The national weather agency says rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult Tuesday and people should take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing the heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are also in effect for neighbouring London-Middlesex, Huron-Perth, Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex. Winter storm warnings are also posted for many areas including Toronto, Hamilton and Oxford-Brant.
