Hockeyville Hopes High In Petrolia

Kraft is unveilling its Hockeyville's top 10 this weekend, and the Town of Petrolia is having a party in anticipation of the announcement.

The town entered into the contest in hopes of winning $100,000 in arena upgrades and the chance to host an NHL preseason game.

Petrolia Minor Hockey President Nick Salaris says the community support has been fantastic.

"It's truly been incredible, Petrolia is a giving community and we help others when in need," says Salaris. "We have local businesses, service clubs and homeowners decorating their windows and storefronts."

Saturday's activities include a Kraft Chef Cooking Contest at the Greenwood Rec Centre at noon, and a parade at 1:15pm.

Everyone is invited back to the Greenwood Rec Centre at 7pm for the Kraft Hockeyville top 10 unveiling.

The Petrolia Squires then host Clinton for game four of their Senior AA playoff series at 7:30pm.

Festivities continue on Sunday with a full slate of games scheduled at the arena.
