Sarnia ERT Team Enters Apartment

The Sarnia Police Service Emergency Response Team entered an apartment early this morning out of concern for the safety of a young woman. Police responded to the 800 block of Devine St. at about 11:20pm and learned that a 24-year-old man was in an apartment with a 19-year-old female that he was not to be in contact with. The ERT team was called to secure the area after police watched the man through a window appear to retrieve a knife from the kitchen. Shortly before 3:30am a warrant for entry was granted and the team gained entry to the unit. The man was arrested without incident and was awaiting a bail hearing on three counts of breaching bail conditions. There were no injuries.
