Maple Syrup Festival

The annual A.W. Campbell Maple Syrup Festival is on Saturday March 19 and Sunday March 20 from 10am until 3pm.

Spokesperson Sharon Nethercott says the sap's been flowing for a while now because of the mild weather.

"We concentrate on the historic perspective," she says. "We have the First Nation method of collecting and cooking sap and turning it into syrup. We look at the early pioneer and the modern pioneer and how they tapped trees."

The Festival is being held at the Conservation Area on Shiloh Line north east of Alvinston. Admission per car is $2 and the Alvinston Firemen's Association will be hosting their traditional pancake and sausage meals at the Alvinston Community Centre.
