Contractor Injured At Lanxess Sarnia

Lanxess says a contractor has been injured while performing maintenance work at the company's TSR (Tire & Specialty Rubbers Business Unit) manufacturing facility in Sarnia.

The incident happened on Wednesday around 2:20pm. Paramedics were notified and transported the man to Bluewater Health. He was treated and released by 3:30pm, and his condition is reported as stable.

Lanxess President & Plant Manager Ubiratan Sa says safety is the company's primary concern.

“We are taking every possible step to evaluate how this incident occurred and how it can be prevented in the future," says Sa.

According to the company, operations at the Lanxess Sarnia facility continue as normal.
