Capstone Competition At Research Park

More than 60 students studying Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Western University will be at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park on Thursday, March 24, for the annual Capstone Engineering and Design Competition.

The event, now in its 11th year, is an opportunity for graduating students to present design projects to a panel of judges made up of local community and industry leaders.

There are three categories: Renewable Fuels and Energy, Oil and Gas Processes and Special Chemical Production.

"The Capstone competition carries significant benefits not just for students, but for industry too," says Bowman Centre Director Dr. Katherine Albion.

"Knowledge shared at these events helps to lay the groundwork for future careers and growth in the industry."

Presentations will begin at 8:45am and continue until awards are handed out at 1:40pm. The event is open to the public.
