Watford Men Arrested In Drug Bust

Two Watford men have been arrested on numerous charges after a drug investigation by the Lambton OPP.

On April 1, officers executed a search warrant at a residental property on Warwick St. in Watford. Police allege several types of drugs were seized along with property related to the unlawful distribution of drugs.

As a result, 40-year-old Peter Belik, and 43-year-old James Vanderkant each face five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a narcotic, and two counts of simple possession. Belik is also charged with failing to comply with recognizance.

The OPP's Street Crime Unit, along with the West Region Emergency Response Team, and Canine Unit were all involved in the case.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
