Dash Cam Video Assists Police in Multi-Vehicle Crash Investigation

Sarnia police say a 29-year-old female driver faces a charge of failing to stop at a red light in connection with a five-vehicle collision last Thursday.

Around 3pm, officers were dispatched to the intersection of London Rd. and Finch Dr.

Dash camera video evidence from a witness not involved in the collision helped the Sarnia police Traffic Unit complete its investigation.

There were no injuries.

Sarnia police have also charged a 28-year-old man after a motorcycle was clocked at nearly double the speed limit Monday. Officers conducting radar on Cathcart Blvd. around 3:30pm spotted the vehicle travelling 99km/h in a 50km/h zone. The driver faces a fine of $359 and four demerit points. If he had been travelling any faster, he could have been charged wtih stunt driving resulting in the impounding of his motorcycle and a licence suspension.

Sarnia police reminds the public to drive according to the speed limit and conditions.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
