It's McHappy Day

It's McHappy Day today.

The 23rd annual event will see $1 from the sale of every Big Mac, Happy Meal or hot McCafe beverage go to the Lambton Kent chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

More than 1,400 McDonald's country wide including Sarnia's four outlets will raise money to support local children's charities including Ronald McDonald House in London.

Owner of the Sarnia franchises Colleen Buckley says the national fundraiser has raised over $50-million over the 23 years.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
