Man Faces Trafficking Charges In Village Drug Bust

A 30-year-old Point Edward man is charged with drug trafficking following a raid in the village early Thursday morning.

Sarnia police vice unit and general patrol officers executed a search warrant at an unspecified address at midnight.

Police say various quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana were seized as well as various forms of drug paraphernalia.

The street value of the drugs is estimated at $3,000. Several hundred dollars in cash was also seized.

The man arrested was being held pending a bail hearing on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of marijuana and breaching probation.

His name has not been released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
