Sarnia Woman Makes First Court Appearance On Murder Charge

A 30-year-old Sarnia woman made her initial appearance in Sarnia court Thursday morning in connection with a homicide in the city last month.

Amelia Walker wiped away tears as she appeared via video from Sarnia Jail.

She's expected to appear in person Wednesday, May 11 after being remanded in custody for further disclosure.

Walker is charged with second degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Raymond Thomas White.

White’s body was found in a unit in a single-storey row house in the 400-block of Kathleen Ave. in the early morning hours of Tuesday April 19. He was pronounced dead in hospital.

Cause of death has not been released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
