Hiring Spree At Local McDonald's

Usually a move to automation results in job losses, but that's not the case at McDonald's.

Restaurants in Ontario are hiring more than 2,700 new employees as they unveil their new "McDonald's Canada Experience" which includes self-order kiosks, build-your-own burgers, and table-side service.

Sarnia McDonald's Owner/Operator Colleen Buckley says they're hiring at all four local outlets.

"Currently we employ 270 team members," she says. "Since January we've hired 50 individuals to help us launch our new initiatives in our restaurants and that number will increase during our busy summer season."

McDonalds is investing between $200,000 and $250,000 at restaurants in one of the biggest changes in the company's 49-year history.

The Christina St. and Exmouth St. McDonald's are now offering the new McDonald's Canada experience.
