City Police Charge Two Impaired Drivers Within Four Hour Period

Sarnia police had a busy weekend, responding to 233 calls for service. They included six break and enters, 12 thefts, 13 domestic disputes, and nine motor vehicle collisions.

Sarnia police also charged two people with impaired driving in a four-hour span on the weekend. A vehicle hit a telephone pole near the Brock and Devine St. intersection at 11:20pm Friday. A 27-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving. Saturday at 2:40am, an officer responding to a call had to make an abrupt stop at the London Rd. and Murphy Rd. intersection when a vehicle ran a red light. Police say a 33-year-old man blew twice the legal limit and was charged with impaired driving. MADD's annual purple ribbon campaign against drunk driving will be launched Tuesday morning at the Exmouth, Indian Rd. intersection.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
