Sarnia Roads Top The Worst In The Region

Four of the five worst roads in the southwest region are in Sarnia.

Those are the latest results from the most recent annual CAA Worst Roads Campaign.

Spokesperson Ray Chan says Waterworks Rd. was number one on the list, followed by Plank Rd.

St. Clair Parkway came in third in the region and Blackwell Side Rd. was ranked fifth.

He says the campaign's goal is to encourage federal and provincial governments to provide dedicated permanent funding to struggling municipalities.

"That's something that CAA has always advocated for and we would like to see more and continued dedicated funds towards infrastructure improvements," says Chan. "No matter how much money is dedicated towards something like this, it's never really going to be enough, but to keep pace with the amount of traffic and congestion that's on our roads and the wear and tear it causes."

Number four in the southwest region is Tecumseh Rd. E in Windsor.

The worst road in Ontario was County Rd. 49 in Prince Edward County.
