Red Carpet Treatment For Local Nominees

The Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce is expecting over 500 people for their 27th annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards Gala tonight at the Imperial Theatre.

Chamber President and CEO Shirley de Silva says they have 66 nominees for 15 awards.

de Silva says they have an academy awards theme, with red carpets and palm trees.

"It's our premiere signature event for the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber," says de Silva. "The doors will open at six and the ceremony starts at seven. We're really dressing it up there's a red carpet, palm trees and paparazzi, everything to make the nominees feel special."

Blackburn Radio's Eve Morgan is one of two nominees for Member of the Year.

Tickets are $75 at the Imperial Theatre box office, and include the after party as well.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
