Major Overhaul Approved For Downtown Transit Terminal

Significant upgrades will be made to the downtown Sarnia Transit terminal.

City council approved $500,000 for the project, which Director of Transit Jim Stevens says was a long time coming.

"It will include better street scaping, a wider platform which will be completely redone and there will be larger and improved passenger shelters," says Stevens.

"We are hoping to see that happen this fall, it's a big project it will probably be about eight weeks in duration."

The project would also see the loss of approximately 45 parking spaces with partial replacement elsewhere at the Bayside Centre.
