La Grande Traversee Stops In Sarnia

As part of a ride through six provinces, La Grande Traversee made a stop Sarnia Tuesday.

Sarnia police Constable John Sottosanti says the group of about 30 to 40 cyclists arrived last evening from Windsor.

"This group is participating in a 30 day, six province and 2000 km cycle trip," says Sottosanti. "La Grande Traversee is a youth event to celebrate the importance of having a healthy lifestyle and the opportunity to provide an example through actions, rather than words."

The group of cyclists will leave Secondary school Franco-Jeunesse around 9am Wednesday, heading northbound on Modeland Rd. to Lakeshore Rd, then old Lakeshore Rd. heading east and out of the city.

City police will be assisting with an escort.
