SIU Investigating Incident On Devine St.

The province's Special Investigations Unit is looking into an incident that occurred in the 800-block of Devine St. around 8:45pm on Tuesday.

The Sarnia Police Service responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old man.

The SIU says during the incident, more than one taser was deployed and the suspect was taken to Bluewater Health for treatment of a serious arm injury.

Once the SIU invokes its mandate, the involved police agency can no longer comment on the incident.

The Special Investigations Unit is traditionally called in when police officers are involved in an incident where someone has been seriously injured, dies or alleges sexual assault.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
